Saving one child at a time

The mission of Reece's Rainbow is to rescue orphans with Down syndrome through the gift of adoption, to raise awareness for all of the children who are waiting in 25 countries around the world, and to raise funds as adoption grants that help adoptive families afford the high cost of adopting these beautiful children.

I have followed a few blogs for a while now who advocate on a regular basis for children off the Reece's Rainbow website.  It has definitely been an eye opening experience for me to read some of the stories and to see some of the heartbreaking pictures of these beautiful children, just like my Sophia, who are living a life of hell just because they have an extra chromosome.  Some of the things I've read, I couldn't even imagine my dog living in a place where these CHILDREN are subjected to live.  But as much as the thought of these amazing, sweet, beautiful children having to live like they do breaks my heart into pieces, the thought of a family coming to rescue them and take them home to love and care for them is AWESOME!  Another mom, whose blog I follow HERE, is in the process of adopting, for a second time, and could use all the prayers and support from anyone who is willing and able.  You can read about her family and see a picture of the sweet little girl who they can't wait to bring home HERE.

  1. I am so excited for them! We are currently petitioning the Minister of Adoption in Serbia to make an exception for our family size and let us adopt one of their precious kids with Ds. It's not through RR as, after months of pouring over pictures, I just could not bring myself to choose one child over another. Serbia only does blind referrals. If they grant our request and all goes expediently, you might even get to meet him or her at the next Buddy Walk! Prayers are so appreciated. :)
