Bustin' a Move

Dora AND Sophia's Dance Party

Last Saturday we celebrated Sophia's 3rd birthday with some family and friends.....dance party style :)

the dance floor and the DJ table :)
Boots is missing Dora because our luck with balloons, SUCKS!!  Dora flew away less then a half hour from putting her up, for once it wasn't our fault.  Needless to say, I'm NEVER buying balloons again, they always end up flying away and I might as well just throw my money in the air and watch it fly away.....ok, rant over :)
Dora says, Happy Birthday!!

THREE

Three is a big number for our little girl.  It's the closing of a chapter in her life and the beginning of a new chapter on our journey.  For the past three years we have undergone 4 surgeries, 5 hospital stays, crash courses in oxygen tanks and feeding tubes and too many doctor appointments and therapy sessions to even count.  We have met new friends and connected with a community of people who know that having an extra chromosome is truly a blessing.  Sophia went from this tiny peanut who struggled to gain weight and thrive as a baby, to this toddler who has turned into an eating machine, almost over night!

I don't even know where the last three years went.  Looking back then, to where we are now, seems like decades ago.  She is a totally different little girl now, on so many levels.  I can still remember some days like they were yesterday, and feeling like those days were NEVER going to end, but today I look at Sophia and she AMAZES me at how far she has come in only three years.

Sophia will be starting preschool in the fall and I just can't believe that I will be slipping a backpack on her little body and walking her into a big girl school in only a few short months.  It just doesn't seem like we should be at that stage in her life yet, but we are, and I know that she is going to do great!  I have so many hopes and dreams for her and her future, and I have no doubt in my mind that she is going be something wonderful!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIA GRACE!!!!!
